Prior to founding Chateau Partners, Clemens spent 15 years as leading global investment banks including Morgan Stanley, and Lazard.  He led multiple groups and teams of advisors and established client relationships with some of the largest Fortune 500 companies as well as with a variety of start-ups. During his career, he completed over 200 transactions for his clients.

Clemens received an MBA from Stanford Business School, a Ph.D. (summa cum laude) in Quantum Optics from the Ecole Polytechnique, Paris, France and an M.S. (magna cum laude) from the University of Bonn, Germany. He published over 20 academic papers in some of the most highly regarded scientific publications including in Physical Review Letters.
